Serious application error when trying to Export Map

I’m experiencing a new error that hasn’t occurred before even thought I have been using ArcGIS 10.1, on this laptop, for over a year.

When I go to File>Export Map, ArcMap closes immediately (before any dialog box opens) and I get a “ArcGIS Desktop has encountered a serious application error and is unable to continue” and asks if I want to submit an error report. I’ve tried it multiple times, including after restarting my laptop…i.e. have “tried turning it off and on again” Image may be NSFW.

This first occurred in a new workspace that I created this week, but I went back and tried to export maps that I have previously exported it didn’t work either, suggesting it’s nothing to do with the actual data files I’m using.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this? Short term I suppose I can crop a screenshot, but that’s obviously not ideal!
